UNFAIR COMPETITION, noun. (legal) In commercial law, any of various distinct areas of law which may give rise to criminal offenses and civil causes of action, usually including antitrust violations such as restraint of trade and predatory pricing, trademark infringement, passing off or palming off, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
